Good point. I don’t understand the obsession with beta range. On most turboprops you simply use idle for taxiing and occasional wheel brakes (or reverse) to reduce speed if it becomes too high. Beta range below flight idle close to zero pitch is usually much noisier than idle.The PC-6 is different from most other turboprops, including them based on the PT-6 like the Caravan or Twin Otter. The PC-6 has a very low minimum blade angle. It’s -0,5 degrees, whereas the two others have a minimum pitch in flight of c. 10 degrees.
